Helping the homeless is the cause closest to April’s heart. Ten years ago, on the day after Thanksgiving, April started collecting old clothes and socks from friends and family to distribute to the homeless living under freeways. Today, with the help of an ever-growing list of friends who ask to volunteer each year, she now distributes 200 bags filled with snacks, water & toiletries to homeless people who are seeking shelter and assistance at La Placita near Olvera Street in Downtown Los Angeles. She’s also helps fundraise for Mi Casita De Carton, which travels to the outskirts of Tijuana, Mexico to feed the homeless.

Her next passion project is the creation of the” Baray Foundation”, a non-profit charity that will help feed and clothe the homeless at La Placita on a larger scale than she is doing now.

April has volunteered for Keller Williams in Arcadia and Seal Beach for their annual Red Day charity event, which stands for Renew, Energize and Donate. As a runner, she participates in races for good causes such as cures for AIDS, cancer, diabetes, and more.
